As u all know...my reservist was pretty much a nightmare...with all the poking and all the blood squirting out like 'Spiderman'! Its sounds really funny but trust me...if u were in it..u'd be going like MAD!

Now that extra lesson are here and PSLE is so near..life's really hectic and my every drink is Red Bull...in fact the effect on me seems to be waning so I might need stronger alternatives already...KOPI BEANS RAW??? hahah....

I brought Marcus to the comics convention at Suntec in August. It was like DAMN COOL!! well..its for geeks like me after all rite and I'm really starting to train my son up to be a geek way before this time! When I was there, there were alot of Star Wars characters out in full force. In fact, these pp dun even get paid! They do this outta pure interest and all the money that people pay to have a picture with them goes to charity. The fan club here in Singapore is even given a battalion name and they pay like 4 to 5 k to get their outfits! Its damn nice but I'd really just stick to light sabers for kicks...No uniforms for me pls...

I bought for Marcus a snake eyes and storm shadow figure and din buy anything for myself...but well..i will buy some toys for myself soon...u can count on that...")

Sorry again for being 'blog dead'....Its gonna be the same old excuse anyway so why not lets just not even bother about why I havent exactly been active....Just in case u dunno wat the excuse is...I've been....busy...



I borrowed this dvd called 'He's Just Not That Into You' the other day and I really liked the show. The good thing about the show was that it was not just about one couple...It was about a few different couples...One 'despo' girl trying to find Love and finally found it in a fren...One girl who broke off with her boyfriend of 8 yrs cuz he din believe in marriage but she kinda got back with him cuz she realised that his loving her was all that mattered (they finally tied the knot of course...so typical Hollywood)....One married couple who eventually broke up (ah...not ur typical Hollywood ending)...And one more case was about a guy who was always made used of by this gal he likes, she calls him only when she has no company and ignores him when she finds someone else interesting.



The most interesting part of the show was when every couple kinda got into problems...The song 'Somewhere Only We Know' by Keane was played during those scenes. I totally LOVED that song man. I went to look for it immediately after and I keep it on repeat mode at home and in the car! My wife thinks I'm mad...haha...Its the ringtone I hear when my wife calls anyway.

You know why I like the song? We have many many memories. Some good, some bad, some bring a smile to our faces (nope...not the ones of JIM), some neutral ones as well...Most of these memories come back to me when I see photos, listen to certain songs or go to certain places. The reason why I really like this song is cuz its not flooded with 'I love u & u love me' rubbish...its about............



Its about a guy telling this girl that he's kinda tired of waiting and he wants to be with her...stop playing games and let him know if she even considers him a potential partner...they should go to a special place to talk about it...somewhere only they know...I like the idea of this song cuz its nice when you bring a person to this special place, you kinda pour your heart out to each other...talk about life....past regrets....dreams....families....friends...talk about each other...shut the world out and just talk to each other...about each other...

This somewhere could be anywhere....by the beach...in a park...a quiet corner of a shopping mall...a cosy nice restaurant...It doesn't have to be posh or sleek...as long as the company is great...it could even be at a void deck of a HDB flat! Its the company and the conversation that counts and it should be unique...only to you and your very special someone...

Its not easy to do this now that I'm married....Life is all about your kids and when I come home...kids are going to sleep if not already asleep and my wife is completely burnt out...Everything we talk about is pretty much about kids...our folks...our friends...No more about ourselves...When you're married...all these somehow dun matter anymore...You dun feel the need to do it...the excitment and the fire is just not there or maybe just flickering....I feel its really impt to keep the fire alive....keep the fire bright...But trust me...its really not easy...



We did to go to this really nice place and spent some time together recently...nice view...nice breeze...we kinda caught up with each other quite abit (sounds ironic huh? since we are husband and wife)...had the world shut out (not completely thou cuz we kept having to monitor the time)....and talked again about the good old days... our current lives together...what we dreamt about...our plans for the kids (see...kids are never really out of the picture)...I dunno how long this special place will last thou...For as long as it last..it'll be special...somewhere we can catch up....

Toy R Us Midnight Sale!!

I'm terribly sorry for my absence from my blog. ")

I was telling you guys in class about my Transformers Midnight Sale adventure rite? Yes yes...I know I'm a Geek..but hey come on..if I dun remain a little childlike...how to connect with you guys???

But frankly....liking toys is not a bad thing at all...its not a vice...admittedly..it's kinda ex...but hey...as long as you dun smoke or take drugs or go drinking all the time...its fine! I prob spend less on toys than a smoker does on cigarettes and you know what?? He's messing his lungs and the lungs of his loved ones up too!! So....Geeks seem alot better now rite??? Haha...

Marcus's 3rd Birthday

Yo people! I am updating so dun say i lied to u guys k?

I have been really really tired man. Its been work, work, work and MORE WORK! I just had such a severe bout of diarrhoea and after that, I am now down with cough and a super sore throat! (With all that shouting an constantly having to tell SOTRIES!!) With all the extra lessons I'll be conducting these few weeks, I really dun think I will recover anytime soon. But u know what??? At least i enjoy my job..I really do!! Can't imgaine doing anything else....Melvin Ng the Engineer???? NAH!!!!

It was really cool that Marcus' Birthday was on a Friday and that was my last day off before all my extra lessons started. We brought him to sit the Duck Tours which he din really enjoy actually and then we had lunch with my folks to have a mini birthday celebration for Marcus.

We brought him to Vivocity to let him choose a toy and he choose some policemen toy in the end. Haha, it helped that it was not that ex...about 30 bucks only..haha...My bro got him a super advanced remote controlled army tank that costs like close to 300 bucks!! Gosh, I din even have presents 1 tenth the price of that when I was a kid! Kids nowadays are so lucky!

What a end to 'CNY farewell dinner'...

Its the end of CNY and today, we all went to 'No Signboard' restaurant @ East Coast to have family dinner and lou hei as well. It was really cool! The retaurant was facing the sea and the breeze was tremendous. The food was so so but the ambience was fantastic!

U know, when i was a kid, i swallowed a bone. And from then on, I had a phobia of eating fish! can u beat that??? There really are alot of benefits from eating fish really...high in omega (dunno which number) for brain development, alot of protein, much better than red meat definitely...

I only feel safe when i eat 'angmoh' fish like cod fish and salmon. Only when eating these fish can u safely say there is a very low chance of u eating a mouthful of fish with no bone at all.

Since I absolutely hate fish bones, I have always told my mum and wife who look afer Marcus, to exercise extreme extreme caution whenever they give him fish. They have been doing a relatively great job really...until today...accidents happen...

It had to happen to Marcus today, he turned to me immediately after eating a mouthful of fish and shouted'BONE!' I told him to spit it out immediately and he did. I thought all was fine but when he swallowed his second mouthful of rice (and fish of course!). He shouted 'BONE! BONE!' again, only this time, his mouthful was bigger and it was louder.

I gave him the same instructions again and cupped my hand in front of his mouth to encourage him to spit in all out. He did, but not all the food came out..he then repeated his 'Bone' shouts. He then keep choking and coughing! Believe me...I was stunned, my thoughts at that moment was just to remove whatever bone there was out of his mouth and my greatest fear which really gripped me then was, 'what if he had swallowed the bone???'. I had to act....

I just stuck my index finger into his mouth to search for that bone...i could not find any and the worst thing was that he was choking non stop...i had to make him spit out everything so I took a risk and dug deeper...no one else could react then except me...everyone was just in a blur...being his daddy...I had to react...

He vomitted out his food. There was a lump of fish there...I din care of it was gross, I keep pressing the food to see of the bone was there...it wasn't...but he was much better then. That somewhat eased my fears for a split second. I keep asking him if the bone was still there..he said 'no'...i hoped and prayed he was right...

I took him to wash up and thankfully, I could see he was feeling normal again. After washing his hands and taking him out..I was really relieved to see he was playing, laughing and running about as ususal.

It all happened so fast and on hindsight, I guess i did the right thing...but believe me, as his daddy...although it was my instinct and also duty to react. I really wished I had not been placed in that situation...if I had done something wrong...Lets not go there....

Guys, I sure your parents went through this kinda situtations when u were young. Occasions. when u were sick, bullied, sprained ur am....somehow, ur daddies and mummies will do everything in their power to make u feel better...sometimes, it doesn't work, sometimes it does. Appreciate ur parents...They sacrifice alot alot for u guys....

Thank u God for helping me throughout that 30seconds of hell....couldn't have done it without ur help....AMEN!!!

I AM FINALLY UPDATING!!

I sincerely apologise for not updating over 2 months. Well...i guess thats what 3 businesses, 300 students and 2 kids will take up...a lot of time!

It was a relatively quiet CNY...had the chance to catch up with my good pals and on the first nite of CNY...we talked and gambled (dun worry..only once a year...) until like 4am in the morning! We used to have these gatherings when we were young but now....hahah...we rarely get the chance to do it...Here are some pics...enjoy!!
