Monday...My very 1st posting

I have just ended another week. My time these days are just filled with thoughts of my students.

How can I help them do well?

How can I motivate them?

How can I help them to ACE their exams?

But all these are not as important as the question I constantly ask myself....

How can I make that difference in them at such a young age so that hopefully at some point of time in their life, when they are faced with a decision to make, some advice that I have given to them or even some stories thatI have told them will help them to make a wise decision.

My class started at 9am yesterday and ended at 7pm, it was the same on saturday. It was a hellofva day but amazingly, I did not feel it was that bad, probably because my bunch of kids are interesting but of course irritating.

The sec2s are a group of really cool guys, I enjoy teaching them alot cuz they are funloving and yet kinda know when to really sit down and get serious. Can't say the same for the evening extra lesson of course cuz a few of them made me wanna choke them. U know who u r guys! pls lah...exams are really near...u guys gotta know when to cool it.

The sec 1s are a really fun but confusing lot. A whole pool of different students. Some are brilliant, some will take awhile to catch things (which is fine cuz I am no smart alec myself so dun worry!) A few students however, really worry me. They have got no concern whatsoever at all about their studies and one particular kid just strikes me as a kid that 'does not give a damn' (in his own words) about the world. He doesn't care about his parents, siblings, friends, teachers or studies! Sad..Really hope he wakes up soon. The world is moving, I am trying hard to catch up and these kids just dun bother at all...Will pray for him...

I asked my students about their NAFA 2.4km run timings. OMG...they all (gals included) run faster than me...okok....gotta train...embarrassing...

Marcus did not sleep well last night and it was tough, esp for my wife who had to keep waking up to soothe him. He is really not good at sleeping...sleeping seems to be a chore for him man...

Will be shifting houses in Nov. Can't wait to shift to my own home and enjoy doing it up. I know my wife is really excited. Will post a few pictures online when I move in.
